Scene Study with the Grinch

Ever since Edgar has been cast in the role of “Hamster” in Oscar’s film, he has been perfecting his acting chops by watching–repeatedly to the point of almost being obscene–How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  He expects his parents to run lines with him as he gesticulates his way through any given scene.  His favorite at the moment is when Cindy Lou Who catches the Grinch taking the tree and asks in what must be the epitome of sweetness and innocence, “Santy Claus, why?  Why are you taking our Christmas tree?”  Edgar takes on the role of the Grinch, who responds that there is a broken light in need of fixing.  The Grinch says, as he moves his hands from one side to the other in mock empathy and seriousness, “I will take it to my workshop there, then bring it back here.”

Edgar has perfected the movements and the intonation.  He has become the Grinch.  And it’s no wonder Oscar decided to give him a starring role in his film.  There is no doubt he will do it justice!
