What We’ll Remember

On November 5th, Oscar and Edgar made their debut at one of the nicer Italian restaurants in town to celebrate their grandmother’s birthday.  And by “nicer,” I mean glass items on the table, cloth napkins, and no kids’ menu.

Here is what we won’t remember:

  • That there were no naps before dinner
  • That the utensils were largely used to render the table a percussion instrument and were eventually all collected and placed in a large pile in front of me
  • That Edgar had to move into a high chair because it was just too tempting to move around
  • That a few exuberant screeches had to be squelched in deference to the other diners
  • That entire dollops of butter were consumed–and that some wound up in Edgar’s hair

Here is what we will remember:

  • These unbelievably beautiful faces
