On Oscar’s second day of preschool, he rolled out his yoga mat for his first official practice. For me, short of walking–preferably to get ice cream–yoga has always been the one form of exercise that has always made sense; however, I did not discover its benefits until I was nearly thirty. That Oscar is four and is finding out about this ancient practice that brings peace and awareness to both your body and your mind is awe-inspiring. Children can naturally move their bodies and achieve poses those with lesser flexibility must maneuver and grunt breathe their way through. And as Oscar begins his yoga practice, I wish him all the benefit he can derive. Namaste, Oscar. Enjoy the journey.
A huge thank-you to Oscar’s teachers for this and all the photos!
