We drove from Baltimore to New Jersey on the evening of Wednesday, 2 July 2008, and decided to make one last stop in NYC at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan on Thursday afternoon before heading home. The museum was exciting and kept the boys moving and exploring for approximately three hours. Oscar spent the majority of his time in the fire engine and the bus–accepting passengers (occasionally begrudgingly) as they arrived. Edgar had to be carried out of the water area–much to his chagrin. We then went to Cafe Lalo for a delicious late lunch. As Don got the car, the boys sat on a stoop watching NYC’s traffic go by–which appeared to be as entertaining as anything they may have seen or done in the museum. Don and I have traveled much and often; but nothing compares to seeing the world through the eyes of your children. They may move quickly (and grow and learn even more quickly), but they force us to slow down and to attend and to start all over again. Lucky us!
