Since we were already “out and about,” we figured we would pay a visit to Baltimore and my aunt Bonnie, meeting up with her and her son Stephen after a quick stop at the B & O Railroad Museum–a stop that was anything but quick. Oscar had fallen asleep on the way from Washington, D. C., to Baltimore but awoke to visions of trains everywhere–a magical moment for him to be sure. Without missing a beat, he scooted out of his carseat and embarked on a monologue that was as informative as it was entertaining about all the trains and their various parts we were witnessing. Edgar hopped aboard the dining car and declared it “my house” and invited me in. There were trains everywhere–and for these two characters and their doting parents, so much to see.
